The funeral for 5-month-old Cory Cole who was found dead in the woods in Pulaski County is today. Visitation is from noon to 2 and the funeral will follow Bower Funeral Home in Pulaski.

Competitions for the Winter Olympics in Sochi quick off today. Men's and pairs figure skating events will be held along with men's and women's slopestyle, snowboarding and women's freestyle skiing.

Vinton Town Council will hear recommendations from the Stormwater Advisory Council tonight before a final vote by council and the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors. The presentation is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Vinton War Memorial.

Roanoke community leaders are coming together this morning from 8-9 to learn more about a movie project planned for the Star City. The Buddy Cop drama is expected will raise money for non-profit, Straight Street and raise awareness about some of the issues young people in our community face and how a group like Straight Street can help.
