Randy Taylor, the man indicted for murder of missing teen Alexis Murphy will be in court in hopes of getting his trial moved to a new location because of extensive media coverage. A Nelson County judge will hear the request at 2:00 p.m..

President Obama will sign the Farm Bill into law today during a trip to Michigan State University. The measure will cost almost one-trillion dollars over 10 years.

Danville City Council will meet with Duke Energy this afternoon at 1:00 to provide a review and update on the coal ash spill in the Dan River, 20 miles away in Rockingham County. Danville utilities say the water is now safe to drink.

Today is the final day for the general assembly to confirm the appointments of new Governor Terry McAuliffe. Traditionally, gubernatorial appointments have been approved with little issue.

Today is the final radio broadcast for long time New River Valley morning host Scott Stevens. The newly renamed NASH 107.1 will feature the syndicated America's Morning Show beginning Monday. Stevens will continue as operations manager for the station.
