GRANVILLE, Ohio - An investigation is ongoing after a Denison University student was found dead Saturday night.

According to the Granville Police Department, at about 1 p.m. Saturday, the father of 21-year-old David Hallman III called police to report his son missing.

Police said Hallman was last seen leaving Brew’s Café in Granville at about 2 a.m. Saturday, and had missed an appointment set for noon later that day.

After attempts to contact Hallman by cell phone failed, multiple search crews were organized to look for him.

At about 10:34 p.m. Saturday night, Hallman’s body was found on Parnassus Village Drive by staff members of Denison University, who were volunteering in the search.

According to Granville police, the cause of death remains under investigation, but alcohol is a suspected factor.
