Wintry mix Monday night - WSLS 10 NBC in Roanoke/Lynchburg Va

Wintry mix Monday night

Posted: Updated:
A wintry mix will move into the region Monday night into Tuesday morning.  Snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain are all possible.

The highest snow and sleet accumulations will occur north of Interstate 64 where one to two inches is possible.  For the New River and Roanoke Valleys and areas east of the Blue Ridge and north of Highway 460, up to one inch of snow and sleet is possible.

Freezing rain looks to get thrown into the mix, especially for the New River Valley and areas along and south of Highway 460 east of the Blue Ridge.  A trace to a tenth of an inch of ice is expected.

Southside will see rain, possibly with a little snow and sleet mixed in, but accumulations are not expected.

The moisture should work into the area between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Monday, ending by 6 a.m. Tuesday.
