Daughter's Facebook brag costs dad $80,000

A daughter's Facebook post didn't amuse a Florida court, and the result cost her father $80,000.

Gulliver Preparatory School had agreed to pay former headmaster Patrick Snay $80,000 to settle a discrimination case, according to the Miami Herald. Snay, now 69, had argued that the school's decision not to renew his contract discriminated against him because of his age.

Gulliver Prep agreed to pay him and the deal included a confidentiality clause. But Snay's daughter, Dana, posted on Facebook days later, "Mama and Papa Snay won the case against Gulliver. Gulliver is now officially paying for my vacation to Europe this summer. SUCK IT."

The Third District Court of Appeal ruled against the settlement Wednesday.
