The Ferrum College women's basketball team is making its third consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament, but this will likely be an extended stay. The Panthers captured both the regular season and tournament titles in the USA South conference to earn a regional host site. What's most interesting about this group? Lots of things, but you can't help but notice they are loaded with SW Virginia talent. The entire roster is from the state, and 10 of 12 hail from the area. Here's a roster list, with high schools: Jacole Hairston, Magna Vista, Kayla Goins-Carroll County, Shea Smith-Franklin County, Krista Cox-Floyd County, Myah Robinston-Heritage/Leesburg, Boreika Burwell-Franklin County, Lindsay Martin-Carroll County, Kemani Crawford-Robert E. Lee Staunton, Kylene Culler-Patrick County, Jessica Rhodes-William Byrd, Katy Kipps-Blacksburg.

Head Coach Bryan Harvey coached Glenvar to a pair of state crowns before heading to Ferrum, He's in his ninth season at Ferrum. The Panthers will host a sub-region at home that includes Capital University, Eastern Mennonite and Christopher Newport. Action begins Friday with Ferrum(26-2) being the number one seed and host.
