Martinsville plant fire under investigation

Firefighters remain at the scene of a fire at the former American of Martinsville plant. Crews are trying to determine the cause.

The fire started on Monday evening. Streets were blocked off as smoke and flamed could be seen for miles.

The plant had been closed for years. City officials said a developer recently purchased one of the buildings and planned to use the land to store supplies and hold auctions.
