"Solarize Blacksburg" set to launch Wednesday afternoon

Posted: Updated:

BLACKSBURG - Blacksburg residents will soon be able to go solar in their homes and businesses, and town leaders say they can expect to break even on their costs.  The program called "Solarize Blacksburg" kicks off Wednesday afternoon, and it is a team effort between the town, community housing partnerships and other clean energy associations. These groups have combined bulk discounts, a 30 percent federal tax credit, electricity savings and long-term financing to make the switch to solar affordable for homeowners.  Anyone who is interested in going solar in their home or business, or learning more about the program, can attend the launch Wednesday at 4 PM at Market Square Park in Blacksburg.
