12-year-old hit and killed by car near Clayton

CLAYTON, N.C. -

State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident in Johnston County after a 12-year-old boy was hit and killed by a car Monday night.

The accident happened around 8:19 p.m. Monday in front of 12-year-old Khalil Todd's home on Ranch Road near Clayton.

Highway Patrol said a 2008 Honda Accord, driven by 24-year-old Brian Sessions, was traveling southwest on Ranch Road when the boy was hit. Todd died at the scene.

Speed and alcohol were not a factors in the accident and charges have not been filed at this time.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
