School Bus Accident on Route 220

Virginia Stae Police are still investigating this afternoons crash that happened around 3 p.m.

State Polcie say the bus was coming out on Dyer Road on Route 220 when it was hit by a 2007 Kia Spectra.

Police say 18 students were on the bus at the time of the crash.

They say three students ages 5 through 7 were taken to Martinsville Memorial Hospital for injuries.

Police say the bus driver 41 year old Tammi Nicole Adams was also taken to the hospital.

Police have charged 21 year old Amber Renne Clark, who was driving the Kia Spectra, with reckless driving.

Virginia State Police say an accident involving a school bus and another vehicle happened this afternoon on Route 220 in Martinsville. Traffic was disrupted for about half an hour this afternoon while the vehicles were cleared.

No one was injured.

Police say the accident happened in the 5500 Block of Virginia Avenue. Their initial information says a vehicle ran a stop light and hit the side of the bus. The students were taken back to Stanleytown Elementary.
