Good Thursday Morning!

Weather conditions are affecting roads across the region this morning.  South of Wythville, drivers can expect the potential for high winds as they head out.  The New River Valley and parts of Roanoke are seeing flurries and the potential for some slick conditions on the roads. 

I81 Radford Rest Stop:    
VDOT is reporting the rest stop is closed this morning due to an incident.  The north entrance and exit ramps to the rest area are closed. WSLS spoke with police, who say they're not working any incidents in that area.

Downed Trees Road Closures:
New River Valley: Mountain Lake Road (Giles County), Craigs Mountain Road (Montgomery County), Gate Ten Road (Pulaski County)
Franklin County: Northridge Road, Grassy Hill Road, Fairfield Road
Botetourt County: Blacksburg Road
Pittsylvania County: Grassland Drive, Rt. 1155W
Halifax County: LP Bailey Memorial Highway

    Roanoke City Police are investigating the incident surrounding the death of a 2-year-old girl. According to a news release from police, officers were called to the 1500 block of Kenwood Boulevard SE at 4:27 p.m. Sunday for an unresponsive child.
