GRAY, TN (WJHL) -

A 21-year-old man was stabbed eight times in the lower back during a struggle in Gray, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

A WSCO news release said Cody Honeycutt, 21, 101 Welcome Court, Gray, was found at an apartment complex at 131 Bob Fitz Road with stab wounds to his lower back.

According to the release, Honeycutt and Robert Rose, 23, 131 Bob Fitz Road, No. 5, got into a fight in Rose's apartment. The fight continued into the parking lot of the complex, and Honeycutt received eight stab wounds to his lower back.

Honeycutt was taken to Johnson City Medical Center for treatment.

The case will be presented at the next term of the Washington County grand jury.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a stabbing at a home in the Gray community Thursday.

According to a WCSO news release, deputies responded to 131 Bob Fitz Road and found a man with stab wounds to his lower back area.

Deputies found that a door in the apartment complex broken open and a physical altercation had occurred in the parking lot of the complex.

The man was taken to Johnson City Medical Center for treatment.

According to the release, the man’s name is not being released at this time and the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

Charges are currently pending in the incident.
