UPDATE: Wythe Co. Rescue Squad board member resigns

A member of the Wythe County Rescue Squad board member has now resigned.

Dreama Chandler, a long time member of the Rescue Squad submitted her resignation Wednesday.

She was the only member not to sign the agreement with the county to receive the $10,000 in exchange for turning the rescue squads equipment over to the County if they do decide to close.

In a statement to WSLS Chandler says she supported extending service to the county by 30 days and beyond if possible.

Rescue Squad officials say the remaining board members will meet Monday with the Wythe County Board of Supervisors to discuss new by laws. The county wants possession of the squads assets as part of the agreement for voting to give the squad $10,000 to pay off current debt.
