Man, 69, arrested for soliciting sex from underage boy in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. -
The Raleigh Police Department said a 69-year-old man has been arrested in connection an incident involving soliciting sex from an underage boy.
Gennaro Salvatore Anastasio was charged Wednesday with one count of indecent liberties with a minor in connection with an incident on Feb. 21 on Wake Towne Drive, police said.
Anastasio posted his bond late Wednesday which was set at $50,000. His first scheduled court appearance is Thursday morning.
Anastasio has been transported to the Wake County Detention Center and the investigation of the incident is continuing, according to Raleigh police.
Police said Anastasio was driving a tan- or sliver-colored sedan on Feb. 21 when he soliciting sex from a 13-year-old boy on Wake Towne Drive. The boy did not comply with the solicitation and the suspect drove away, police said.
Raleigh police believe this incident could be connected to a similar incident that occurred March 5 at Broughton High School.
