The public will be able to take a look inside the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences's newest building for the first time next week.
Human and Agricultural Biosciences Building 1 consists of research labs, group work space, and a large pilot plant that will allow researchers to test products.
Faculty began moving into the new building a few months ago.
College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Dean of Research and Graduate Studies, Saied Mostaghimi, says he is very excited about the positive reviews he's already received from his staff.
He predicts the facility will have a positive impact on the college's growth.
Previously, the college had lost potential recruits to other universities due to a lack of research space.
Now, Mostaghimi feels the college will be able to attract quality faculty and students.
This building is just one piece of a four-part expansion.
The University plans to build three more buildings near the new facility in the future.
Mostaghimi hopes to see some of the features used in the new building incorporated into the future expansion.
He says, "This would set up a good model for us as we move and think about the future buildings."
There is no set date on when those will be completed.
If you would like to tour Human and Agricultural Biosciences Building 1, the grand opening will be held on March 21st at 10am.
