ROANOKE, VA -

On Friday a broken pipe caused flooding at the Rescue Mission in Roanoke. Staff said the incident happened around 4am.

Volunteers, along with residents of the shelter, worked quickly to clear the water from the area near the kitchen and dining room.

The Rescue Mission flooded a few months ago. Staff say the damage from the previous flood reaches close to $15,000 so far. They said this most recent flood is not expected to be as expensive. However, historic memorabilia such as old newspaper articles about the Rescue Mission were damaged.
