Savannah Day hands out toys to hospital patients on St. Patrick's Day

Posted: Updated:
Botetourt County teen Savannah Day spent Monday afternoon at Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital delivering smiles to children.

Savannah went room to room handing out toys to the little patients.

This isn't the first time she has done this.

In fact, Savannah and her sisters organized a toy drive back at Christmas for patients at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, which is where she underwent brain surgery.

“During our journey as the kids connect with other families that are going through the same thing we just hope to put a smile on their face and to show them you can go through this, re-cover, move on with your life and even give back,” Savannah’s mom said, Michelle Day.

The toys handed out Monday were actually donated by a little girl named Abby from Christiansburg, who decided to give her 9th birthday gifts to Savannah to hand out to other children.
