The American Red Cross and WSLS 10 continue to celebrate heroes.
We introduce you to our Workplace Hero, who is known to her students as Ms. Lomax and Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve.
Flossie Lomax spends her days as Assistant Principal at Patrick Henry High School, but when she's not walking the halls and sidelines Lt. Colonel Lomax helps manage army programs supporting equal opportunity and sexual harassment and assault response.
She says one day the military support programs she leads could help a student.
“I'll think about someone's grandchildren or even the children we have here that eventually one of them will be in the service and they're going to need the support and those services we provide are very important,” LTC Lomax said.
A reserve colleague nominated her as a Red Cross workplace hero, an honor she's quite familiar with since she nominated last year's Education Hero, PHHS Principal, Connie Ratcliffe, so this is her second Celebration of Heroes breakfast.
