VA Amber Alert for Russell Co. child canceled

9:48: a.m. The AMBER Alert for a Russell Co. boy has been canceled as of 9 a.m. Russell County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that Lucas Guinn, 11, and his abductor, Jimmy Guinn, were found during a traffic stop. Lucas Guinn was safely recovered, and Jimmy Guinn, 67, was taken into custody.


 Update 9:45 p.m.

Police say the suspect, 67-year-old Jimmy Guinn, could possibly be headed northbound towards West Virginia or Ohio.

His Virginia license plate number is 78471PY.

An Amber Alert has been issued for an 11-year-old boy from Russell, Virginia believed to be in extreme danger.

The Russell County Sheriff's Office says Lucas Ezra Silas Guinn was last seen at Lebanon Middle School in Lebanon, VA and the time of abduction is 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, March 20th.

The child was last seen wearing a red and black shirt, with blue jean pants.

The suspect is listed as Jimmy Donald Guinn, a white male who may be headed towards Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Scottsdale, Arizona, or Surprise, Arizona in a 2004 purple Tractor Freightliner.

Anyone with information should contact Russell County Sheriff's Office at 1-276-889-8033 or Virginia State Police at 1-800-822-4453.
