Timesaver Traffic, new closures begin: Monday, March 31

Posted: Updated:
Good Monday Morning!

Several new road closures are scheduled to begin across the region today:

Roanoke County:  Work on the Rt 419 bridge over I81 at the 141 interchange will continue this morning.  Traffic on the Rt 419 bridge is reduced to one lane in each direction.  The closures were expected to be removed by 6 a.m., but due to weather issues they will last throughout the day.

Montgomery County: An extensive pavement rehabilitation project on I81 northbound is now in place between mile markers 120 and 125.  The work will require a nighttime left lane closure beginning at 10 p.m. each night and lasting until 6 a.m. each morning.  The closures will be in place Sunday through Thursday lasting until the fall.

Franklin County:  Route 40 between Johnny's Ridge Road and Saint John's Loop will be reduced to one lane for a culvert replacement.  Temporary signals will control traffic through a one-way portion of Route 40.  The construction begins today and will last through July.

Bedford County:  Route 715 (Lowry Road) will be closed for repairs to the railroad bridge that runs over the road.  The road will be closed until Thursday, April 17.

Lexington: Route 11 bypass bridge construction begins today.  Left turns will be prohibited from Campbell Lane onto South Main Street.  Pay attention to flagmen and signs in the area.
