For the second straight year, former University of South Carolina Gamecock Jackie Bradley, Jr. is on the Opening Day roster for the Boston Red Sox.

The team reports Bradley was called up Monday to replace Shane Victorino in the outfield. Victorino was put on the 15-day disabled list with a hamstring injury.

Bradley will be with the Red Sox when they take on the Orioles in Baltimore Monday. The 23-year-old Bradley was called up from the team's AAA affiliate, Pawtucket.

This is the second straight Opening Day Bradley is starting for the Red Sox.  Last season, his first Major League Baseball game was the Red Sox opener against New York at Yankee Stadium. He drew three walks, scored two runs, and was named ESPN's Player of the Game in his major league debut.

This is Bradley's second year with the Red Sox organization.

According to the Red Sox web site, Bradley went 9-for-57 (.158) with four doubles, one triple, five RBIs and two runs scored in 19 Grapefruit League games this spring. He began the spring with 15 appearances in center field and played his last three games in right field.

In 2012, Bradley was selected Red Sox Minor League Player of the Year by the Boston Baseball Writers after his full season in the minors playing for HighA Salem and Double-A Portland. He combined to bat .315 with 42 doubles, 4 triples, 9 homers and 63 RBI in 128 games.

Bradley played on the two Gamecocks teams that won the NCAA national championship in 2010 and 2011.
