Polymer Solutions will break ground on new Christiansburg facility Monday morning

CHRISTIANSBURG - Polymer Solutions will break ground on a new 20,000 square-foot facility in Falling Branch Corporate Park in Christiansburg Monday morning.

This lab testing business started in the home of Virginia Tech student Jim Rancourt more than 25 years ago. Even though this is not the company's first move, every expansion has happened in the New River Valley, and Rancourt is not alone with his business plans. Since 2010, at least 12 Virginia Tech alumni have founded or led companies that created almost 500 new jobs and generated more than $13 million in this area, and for Polymer Solutions, it has been a mutually beneficial relationship.

Josh Rancourt of Polymer Solutions says, "The natural beauty is great.  It's been ranked one of the best places to raise a family, and that's important to most, if not all, of our employees. There's a lot of talent here, and it's easy to bring talent into the area, and it just made sense."

Polymer Solutions is currently in the Blacksburg Industrial Park, and they say building a new place will allow them to better tailor the facility to their needs. They intend to add five new jobs to the company with the expansion.
