Virginia's Bureau of  Alcohol and Beverage Control is investigating an alleged illegal gambling operation in Roanoke City.

According to search warrants, an undercover special agent reported seeing illegal gambling machines at the Paradise Deli Mart on Melrose Avenue NW.

According to the agent, these machines required payment to play, and through “chance” a possibility of a cash payout.

According to Carol Mawyer with ABC's public affairs, a total of 13 gambling machines were found. The search warrant outlined that during ABC’s search, investigators seized one gambling machine, documents from the gambling machines, the hard drives from all 13 gambling machines found and $17,148 in cash among other items.

Mawyer says the investigation is on-going and no charges have been filed yet.
