President Barack Obama will sign two executive orders today regarding equal pay for female federal workers. The first prevents federal contractors from punishing employees who compare their pay with each other. He'll also order new rules requiring federal contractors to provide data about pay based on sex and race.

The House of Delegates will reconvene this afternoon. Members are expected to discuss Governor Terry McAuliffe's proposal of a 2 year pilot program to expand Medicaid beginning at 4 p.m..

McAuliffe will be at the Virginia Military Institute this afternoon at 1 p.m.. The governor will speak at the 25th Annual Environmental Symposium.

Today Roanoke City Police will announce the details of a $13,000 donation for Project Lifesaver. The program offers tracking devices for people with conditions like dementia. The announcement is at 1:15 p.m. at the police training academy.

Open enrollment begins today for Total Action for Progress' Head Start program. It's taking place at Forest Park Baptist in Roanoke.

Take a break for a free treat today as Ben & Jerry's takes part in the annual Free Cone day from noon to 8 p.m.. The two local ice cream shops at Valley View Mall in Roanoke and New River Valley Mall in Christiansburg will take donations for the Ronald McDonald House and United Way.
