Roanoke auto shop creates project to help local nonprofits

Posted: Updated:
Quality Auto Paint and Body Shop's nonprofit project called Quality Cares is helping the Roanoke Rescue Mission get back on the road.

After months of work owners of Quality Auto presented the Rescue Mission with their new and improved van.

Once an old beat up white van Richard Henegar Jr. has helped breathe new life into it, wrapping the inside with colorful illustrations of the Roanoke skyline.

Richard was inspired to create Quality Cares where his auto shop helps local non-profits.

He's hoping other local businesses take note.

“Everybody has a talent, everybody has a gift, if I could bake cookies and owned a bakery I would be feeding the homeless when I could, but my gift is gab and automotive industry, so I figure when I'm able to give back and use my network I'm going to do that,” Henegar explained.

The van is even equipped with a bubble maker.

The driver can simply hit a button and bubbles float out the back.
