Tornado warning and watches in effect for region; severe weather happening now

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) - The News Channel 11 staff is working away to bring you the latest severe storm updates. 

The following is a list of updates, closures and areas currently being affected by the severe weather:

- Elm Street in Erwin is closed from Prince Street to Fifth Street.

- A shelter is open in Greene County for those who need refuge from the coming storm. The shelter is at 310 South Main St., Greeneville. This is the old Andrew Johnson school building. Viewers who need assistance should call 798-1729.

- Damage has been reported in Duffield, Va.
