Sentencing for Randy Taylor to take place in July

Posted: Updated:

Randy Taylor is now behind bars and he will remain there until sentencing this summer.

He is the man that was last seen with missing teen Alexis Murphy in August.

Twelve jurors found Randy Taylor guilty of first-degree murder in commission of abduction and abduction with intent to defile.

The jurors recommended that Taylor serve the maximum punishment of two life sentences.

Judge J. Michael Gamble will have the final say.

Sentencing will take place on July 23rd.

Taylor's trial lasted one week.

During the trial, the prosecution presented multiple pieces of evidence that were found inside of Taylor's camper with DNA matching that of Alexis Murphy.

However, the defense argued that there was not enough evidence in this case to convict Taylor of murder, especially since Murphy's body has yet to be found.
