God's Pit Crew to build home in tornado ravaged Mississippi

Posted: Updated:
One week after arriving in Louisville, Mississippi God's Pit Crew volunteers are on their way home.

Crews helped clean up 21 different properties.

The crew set up in the parking lot of a local church and the pastor says he had no idea what he was getting into when he agreed to let God's Pit Crew set up base there.

“My church is unscathed and so close, I thought surely we can help the helpers and so I said bring it on.  I had no idea, it was absolutely amazing what I was agreeing to, but I didn't know at the time. I know how to read books, I don't know how to do all of this,” said Mason Joy, pastor of East Louisville Baptist Church.

God's Pit Crew as already made plans to go back to Louisville to build a home for a deserving family.
