The American Legion will host a potentially heated town hall meeting focused on the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Phoenix. It has come under fire after allegations of secret lists of patients with overdue appointments. Today's town hall comes one day before American Legion healthcare experts will visit the Phoenix hospital.

Arlington National Cemetery will mark its150th anniversary today. There will be a wreath-laying ceremony at the gravesite of Army Private William Christman, the first military burial at Arlington.

Army Sergeant Kyle White will become the seventh living recipient of the Medal of Honor at the White House today as he's recognized for his courageous actions while serving as a platoon radio telephone operator in Afghanistan. The North Carolina resident risked his life to save fellow platoon members after an ambush.

Fallen officers will be honored at the annual Roanoke Valley Police Memorial Service at Melrose Baptist Church tonight at 7:00 p.m.. Several agencies from the Roanoke Valley will take part.

There will be a public hearing tonight in Christiansburg on increasing water and sewer fees. Council will also discuss the feasibility of the recycling program. The meeting is at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
