MIAMI (RNN) - People in Miami experienced tense moments when a possible tornado was reported a mile west of Miami International Airport.

The National Weather Service in Miami issued a tornado warning for Northeastern Miami-Dade County but it was later canceled.

Meteorologist Ryan Phillips tweeted the threat of heavy rain and gusty winds will continue across South Florida.

According to NBC Miami, flooding may threaten areas including: Hialeah, Miramar, Miami Lakes, Hialeah Gardens, Medley and Pennsuco.
