SustainFloyd gives community inside look at 'tiny homes'

Posted: Updated:
We've given you a peek inside and you're still talking about it on-line but now it's your chance to go inside some of Floyd's tiny homes for a Tiny House Tour.

The Berzins opened their less than 400-square foot home to us last week. They moved here, like many others in the tiny home movement, in an effort to live simply and debt free. The family is partnering with SustainFloyd and other tiny house homeowners for Saturday's tour.

It's a self-guided driving tour through several homes in the area. "There's an awful lot of websites, you tube videos that will show you what the houses look like but this is one of the first opportunities locally I think where you can come in and see the way people lay out their homes and see there are real people doing it," said tiny homeowner Karl Berzins.

A new documentary, "Ttiny: A Story About Living Small," will be screened following the tour at the Floyd Country Store at 6:30 p.m..
