New delivery service "Fetches" good business

Posted: Updated:
Here at Fetch in downtown Roanoke, the calls come in, the food orders get taken, then picked up fresh from the restaurant and minutes later your favorite food is delivered to your door.

An idea that's spreading in popularity as the cities only delivery service is booming only three months after opening.

"Things have been incredible lately."

Jonathan Kelly is the young entrepreneur behind the business, and is quickly turning a profit not only for fetch, but downtown restaurants.

"I didn't realize the Roanoke market would react so well to a delivery service. Our growth has been extremely well,” Kelly said.

In fact Fetch has already sold 10 thousand menu items, and averages more than two hundred orders a week. In total they've made $75,000 in sales for local restaurants.

Kelly attributes the success to their online ordering system  where your favorite downtown meal is only a click away from being delivered to your door.

They started out partnering with only 15 restaurants and have now doubled that, offering delivery services for more than thirty. New York Subs is a frequent order. Jackline Thomas, manager at the restaurant says it's a way to increase sales, without risky investments.

"It's really nice that you know we don't have to pay that extra little bit of money it's great that there is someone out there already doing that," Thomas said.

Your order is guaranteed in an hour but often drivers get it there much faster. We rode along with one of the drivers, Leslie during her run.

"My personal goal is to try to get people their food in like thirty minutes."

An ambitious operation that Kelly says is coming together. They've even started hiring more employees.

"I've always had the big picture idea. It's about having the right team with you, and i think right now we have the right team the right fit."

So right, that Kelly is planning on expanding his business into Salem and Blacksburg within the year.
