Wise County man accused of abducting woman at gunpoint

WASHINGTON COUNTY, VA (WJHL) - A Wise County man is accused of abducting a woman at gunpoint.

According to police, Tarrus Forney, 32, of Coeburn, Virginia, went into the home of a woman and waited for her on Friday morning. Investigators tell News Channel 11, the victim had gone to obtain a protective order against Forney.

Police said when the victim came home, Forney physically beat and assaulted her. Police said the victim was then taken from her house at gunpoint to a home off Fairview Street in Bristol, Virginia.

Investigators said around 12:30 PM, Friday, Bristol,Virginia Police received a 911 call from the alleged victim, who had fled from Forney.

Both Bristol, Virginia Police and Washington County, Virginia deputies responded to the Fairview Street home where they arrested Forney. Investigators tell News Channel 11, they also found a .22 caliber handgun, which they believe was used in the abduction.

Forney has been charged in Washington County, Virginia, with Burglary, Abduction, Malicious Wounding, Aggravated Sexual Battery, two counts of Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm while being a Convicted Felon and Theft of a Firearm. In addition, Bristol, Virginia Police charged Forney with Possession of a Firearm while being a Convicted Felon.

Forney was transported to the Bristol, Virginia Jail where he's being held without bond.
