Members of the Old Guard will be placing American flags on graves at Arlington National Cemetery to honor our fallen heroes ahead of Memorial Day weekend. Every available soldier in the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment will place small flags exactly one foot in front of more than 250,000 gravesites.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will release its outlook for the 2014 hurricane season this morning. Hurricane season starts June 1 and runs through November 30 with forecasters predicting a quiet season.

The Roanoke Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau will unveil its new advertising campaign during a news conference today at 11 a.m.. The campaign will launch in Roanoke, Richmond, Hampton Roads and Raleigh this week. 

Virginia Western and Goodwill Industries will team up for an open house to showcase the opportunities available for low-income adults and other underserved populations. The event runs today from 4-7 p.m. at the Goodwill Jobs Campus in Roanoke.
