Botetourt Education Foundation auctioning off new tiny house

Posted: Updated:
If you're in the market for a “Tiny House" you can buy one already built and make a difference for technical education students at the same time.

On the front lawn of Lord Botetourt High School sits a newly built house.

The Botetourt Education Foundation paid for the supplies for students at the Botetourt Technical Education Center to build the home.

Foundation leaders say it's important to invest in these students.

“Career technical education allows students the ability to be successful, allows them to have the opportunity to come right into the job market, we need plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etcetera, every day. It's not just a four year degree that makes someone successful, we need to have that,” explained Jay Gilliland, BEF, secretary.

Money from sale of the house goes back into the program, so students can build another home next year.

If you would like to check out the house in person two open houses are scheduled for Sunday, June 1st and Sunday, June 8th between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
