PATH Community Day on June 7th kicks off the summer by filling Horton Park (across from the Lansdowne neighborhood where so many of these students live) with fun activities to do with your family - include Fleet Feet's Walk-a-thon, where students and their families can enter a mile walk run like an official walkathon - water bottles, cheering, bibs for walkers - and when you cross the finish line you qualify to take home a huge bag of fresh fruits and vegetables. Fleet Feet is the generous sponsor of this activity.
RIDE Solutions is sponsoring a Bike Safety Rodeo - and helmets will be given to all children who want one!!! Bikes will be available to borrow that day to learn safe bike riding tips.
Inflatables, Try Tennis activities by Serve First Youth Tennis, hula hoops, Zumba by MajestaCare, veggie bean bag toss, healthy cooking by the VA Coop Ext Office, Community Gardening introduction by the Roanoke Community Garden Association - prizes for children who do at least five activities ... lots to do from 12 to 2 - open to the public free of charge!
Children must be with their parents and several activities require written parent permission.
On site registration is all that is needed - so join us Saturday June 7th at 12 noon at Horton Park at 2500 Salem Turnpike!
