Roanoke dining challenge puts $500 up for grabs

Posted: Updated:
ROANOKE, VA - Dining out for lunch or dinner today could help you win $500. It's all part of a plan the Roanoke City Market building has set in motion right now to get more people to the market.

The Downtown Summer Dining $500 Challenge consists of eating at at least five different market restaurants over the next four weeks and get your challenge card punched. All cards submitted for entry will be part of a drawing for a $500-dollar Visa gift card. The idea is put the market on your radar when it comes to not only lunch but dinner as well. "There's 1200 residents living downtown, that's the current statistic and that's an opportunity for all the restaurants in downtown Roanoke to come down and enjoy all that downtown has to offer," said market marketing director Michelle Dykstra. "We just want to make sure people know the city market is not just a lunch destination but its also a dinner destination."

You can pick up a dining challenge card at any market restaurant now through July 4th and turn in your card by the 7th.
