Science Museum of Western Virginia Butterfly Ball and King Tut Exhibit Opening

On June 14, the Science Museum debuts two spectacular events for our region: THE BUTTERFLY BALL and TUTANKHAMUM: “Wonderful Things from the Pharaoh’s Tomb.” Featuring 124 replicas of the Pharaoh’s legendary treasures, this popular traveling exhibit will be our signature attraction through Jan. 4, 2015. 4th Annual Wine Trail of Botetourt County Summer Concert Series: The Rarely Available Band

The Wine Trail of Botetourt County presents the Fourth Annual Summer Concert Series with three family-friendly, outdoor concerts. This year will feature all three wineries at each venue, allowing for more variety and the ability to sample the entire Wine Trail of Botetourt County at one location. Botetourt County’s first micro-brewery, Flying Mouse Brewery, will also be included throughout the series. Bring your chairs and blankets, but most importantly, bring yourselves out to these great events happening in the beautiful Alleghany and Blue Ridge Mountains of Botetourt County.  June 15 and August 9 concerts will have tickets available on the day of the show at each winery concert location only. Roanoke Valley Horse Show

The Roanoke Valley Horse Show is a non-profit volunteer organization that seeks to improve our Valley through its annual $13 million economic impact, and by donating the profits to health and human service organizations in our region. Proceeds are also directed to equine, environmental and conservancy causes. The Roanoke Valley Horse Show was established in 1972 by the Roanoke Valley Horsemen's Association. It has since become the longest running professional sporting event in the Roanoke Valley and one of the top horse shows in the nation. Rated the highest level of competition in horse shows (AA) by the United States Equestrian Federation, the show awards more than $250,000 in total cash and prizes. The Roanoke Valley Horse Show has been honored with the United States Equestrian Federation’s designation as a USEF Heritage Competition, the highest honor currently held by any Federation horse show. Every year, the RVHS features Hunter, Jumper, Racking, Roadster, Saddlebred,  & Western Divisions; Barrel Races, Children's Stick Horse Classic, Jack Russell Terrier Races, and the $50,000 Grand Prix.
