NHRA Leah Pritichett in town for Thunder Valley Nationals

BRISTOL -    Unlike NASCAR for the moment, the NHRA is a place where women have been successful on the drag strip.

Wednesday afternoon NHRA top fuel driver Leah Pritchett slowed down long enough to speak to the media.
The southern California native is one of 18 women who have competed in the top fuel category in NHRA history.
She says its a dream come true to be a top fuel driver and racing  against guys she grew up idolizing as a child.

In her 2nd season Pritchett is trying to earn her first victory and become the 15th women to win a race in the Mello Yello Series.
