Four-Star recruit Austin Clark of Rockbridge County choose the University of South Carolina from his four finalists Thursday night during the WSLS-10 6pm sportscast.

The 6-5, 295 pound offensive tackle is a member of the Rivals 100 as the number 75 recruit in the nation.

He is listed as the number four player in the state of Virginia and the 7th best tackle in the nation by Rivals. His final four schools were Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and Ohio State in no particular order.

The announcement occurred live on WSLS and can be viewed on Hokiehaven.com or Rivals.com nationally.

Clark says he choose South Carolina for three reasons---he was most comfortable there, the International Business school is outstanding, and the depth chart situation with the Gamecocks is favorable for him to be able to play. Clarked thanked his friends, family and coaches for all their support. His father Stephen and mother Kimberly were on hand--Steve was the quarterback of Rockbridge County's 1988 State title team.
