RALEIGH, N.C. -

Some dads got some good tips Saturday on how to be a better father just in time for Father's Day.

Around 400 people attended the 2014 Fatherhood Conference in Raleigh.

The conference included workshops on father-daughter relationships, pop culture and parenting, and how to get out of debt.

“What we’re trying to do is make sure that fathers know their worth, they know how important they are and that they do everything that they can do to stay involved in their child’s life because kids need their dads,” said Dion Chavis, co-chair of the conference.

This is the second year for the one-day conference.

Some in attendance traveled from as far as Delaware and Georgia.
