Myrtle Beach cupcake champ downs 23+ during 3rd annual contest

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Myrtle Beach's Croissants Bistro & Bakery held its Third Annual Cupcake Eating Contest & Festival today.

The Fourth Of July event also featured  carnival games, pony rides, a petting zoo, music, face painting, balloon animals and kid's cupcake decorating.

As for the main event... the "Cupcake Champion" of Myrtle Beach, William Flynn, ate 29 cupcakes in 4 minutes, although 5 cupcakes were later disqualified because they fell onto his plate.

 Next, there were 2 folks who tied at 22 cupcakes each. The least cupcakes eaten by a person in the contest was 2.

 We asked Flynn for his winning strategy.

"I just had to keep on going and not slow down... I feel like a giant cupcake"

        Flynn will take home a prize pack worth $1,500
