Failed retaining wall forces Giles Co Rt. 460 lane closures

Posted: Updated:

GILES COUNTY (WSLS)-- A failed retaining wall in Giles County has forced VDOT crews to close lanes on Route 460 between Route 61 and Route 643 (Stateline Road).

The left westbound lane and left eastbound lane are closed through the one mile stretch known as "The Bluffs," between Rich Creek and Narrows. Crews are performing repairs on the damaged wall before the lanes can reopen.

There's no exact time in place to reopen the lanes, but it is expected to be a long-term closure lasting at least several days.
