Tim Marshall has been named the new head wrestling coach for Tennessee High School. Coach Marshall was formerly the assistant wrestling coach for two years and has eight years of experience coaching wrestling. He is the founder of the Vikings Wrestling Club, a program for Bristol area for kids in kindergarten through eighth grades.
Coach Marshall is a local small business owner and sales representative. He graduated from Emory & Henry College with a degree in business management and holds an MBA from Milligan College. Coach Marshall and his wife Wendy have two sons and a daughter.
“I am very excited to be named head coach of the Tennessee High School wrestling program,” Coach Marshall said. “I believe the program is in the process of a renaissance of sorts. We are just beginning to realize the fruits of the labors of the Vikings Wrestling Club, and wrestlers are entering the THS program already on a highly competitive level. I am looking forward to a great season.”
Last year with a large group of underclassmen, the team earned regional runner-up and top 20 team placement at state. Most of the wrestlers from last year's team will return in addition to a few new faces from the Viking Wrestling Club.
