Just when we thought Target couldn’t score any more cool points, it goes and releases a Black History Month collection.
Target said it wanted to stay committed to creating inclusive products and experiences for all of its guests.
The Black History Month collection, which is available in 700 stores across the country and on Target.com, features more than 100 items -- from apparel, beauty products and decor to books, music and more.
“We spent a lot of time making sure the assortment reflected our guests and appropriately celebrated African-American history,” said Travis McKinley, Target’s merchandising director.
Target had members from across the company develop, design or handpick through a collaborative process to leverage the unique and diverse backgrounds of its team.
Target said the collection that is for sale now isn’t the only way the company is celebrating Black History Month. Company leaders will travel to Atlanta this month with organizations that support African-American students in higher education for a lab.
Target is also donating $100,000 to the United Negro College Fund’s “Empower Me” tour, which honors students across the country receiving scholarships.
If you're anything like us, you'll be grabbing a coffee and perusing the new collection in person. But if you don't have time for that, check out the Black History Month collection online by clicking here.
