Daytime Kitchen: Seven Layer Dip with Diane Novak

ROANOKE – Diane, one of our loyal viewers, has come to Brittany's rescue as she plans her first Family Thanksgiving Dinner. She's here today with a "Seven Layer Dip" recipe

 

Seven Layer Mexican Dip
Ingredients:
3 med. ripe avocados (or Dean's Guacamole Dip) 
2 tbsp. lemon juice (optional) 
1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1/2 pkg. low salt taco seasoning (can use up to whole envelope)              1 lg. can Frito bean dip (plain) 
1 lg. bunch green onions, chopped
1 sm. cans olives, ripe, pitted, chopped
3 med. tomatoes, chopped or 16 oz. jar of chunky salsa
1 pkg. grated Cheddar cheese or Colby Jack combination


Directions: 
Mash avocados or guacamole with lemon juice.
In a separate bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise and taco seasoning mix. In a 13 x 9 x 2 inch glass dish (or similar dish), layer in this order.
1. Bean dip.
2. Sour cream mixture. 
3. Avocado mixture. 
4. Green onions. 
5. Olives. 
6. Tomatoes. 
7. Cheese. 
Chill before serving. Serve with tortilla chips. Dip through all 7 layers.
