LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - Students from Liberty University were preparing Thursday to help relief efforts in South Carolina as part of a new program.

About 20 students will travel to South Carolina starting next week, and 20 more students the following week.

This will be the first trip for the new LU Send Now program. The program will help students prepare in helping with relief efforts. Students in the program said they are ready to get started.

Junior Rhianna Romero explained, "I'm looking forward to just being able to help for those people who have suffered from this disaster that's happened."

The program launched last month and about 1,000 students have signed up.
