Veteran education opportunities to be showcased at Salem VA Medical Center

SALEM (WSLS 10) - Local Veterans can learn about education opportunities at the Salem VA Medical Center Academic Education Fair for Veterans.

Approximately 20 colleges and universities are expected to attend to provide information on educational opportunities available for Veterans.  The list will include, but is not limited to: American National, American Sentinel University, Ashland University, Averett University, Bluefield College (Virginia), Bluefield State College (WVA), Centra College of Nursing, Chamberlain College of Nursing, Drexel University, Eastern Mennonite University, James Madison University, Jefferson College of Health Sciences, King University, Liberty University, Lynchburg College, Mary Baldwin College, Old Dominion University, Radford University, University of Virginia, and Wilkes University.

A representative from the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) will also be on hand to provide information to interested individuals on eligibility and use of the Post 9-11 GI Bill.

The event is Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Bldg. 5 Auditorium at the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC).
