Kathy Garver from 'Family Affair' stops at Roanoke County school
Actresses teaches students about voice overs
ROANOKE COUNTY – Some Roanoke County students got a special treat Monday.
Kathy Garver, who played "Cissy" on the classic show "Family Affair" stopped at the Burton Center in Roanoke County.
She taught seniors about voice overs that are used for things like audio books and in movies.
"I think it's very beneficial to have someone that is a professional and an expert come to let the students know what is involved in a particular career, what is necessary. I hope to inspire. I hope to entertain and give students the next steps on what they can do if they want to pursue this kind of career," said Garver.
She was in town for the "Happy Trails" Western event over the weekend. The event was such a success that they are planning on expanding it to three days next year in October.
