Roanoke Valley Children's Choir singing overseas

Performing at Canterbury Cathedral and Southwark Cathedral in London

ROANOKE – The Roanoke Valley Children's Choir is performing at Canterbury Cathedral and Southwark Cathedral in London next week.  They are practicing this week at Hollins University.

This group is made up of children from across the Roanoke Valley and beyond.  They will be part of the International Children's Choir Festival.

They were also selected to perform at the prestigious Evensong daily ceremony, sung in Canterbury Cathedral every evening since the year 600 except for 2 evenings because of World War II. 

As the choir for Evensong, the RVCC will process in and out with the clergy.   Only one choir at the festival each year is selected for the honor.

The Roanoke Valley Children's Choir previously participated in the International Festival in 2011
